Abstract

Dr. Chigo Okonkwo, head of the TU/e High Capacity Optical Transmission Laboratory, presents the lab's main activities and recent results. His talk focuses on the lab's efforts in space division multiplexing and quantum communications and sensing. Additionally, a powerful method to measure full complex optical fields (amplitude and phase) is discussed by Dr. Sjoerd van der Heide. He provides an overview of the digital holography setup and associated digital signal processing. Furthermore, the lab's activities in free-space optical (FSO) communication are presented by Vincent van Vliet. He describes the design of an optical turbulence generator, a device enabling emulation of turbulence in the lab, and presents the envisioned Eindhoven FSO testbeds.
